About custom orders and delivery.
When Should I Place My Order? For special events and weddings, timing is key. To ensure your celebration receives the attention it deserves, it's best to plan ahead. I typically recommend placing your order 3-6 months prior to your event date, especially during peak wedding seasons. As I operate on a special order basis, I only accept a limited number of wedding cake orders each month. Once you've selected your date and secured your venue, please don't hesitate to reach out to me to discuss your cake requirements. Your early booking will help guarantee availability and allow us to create something truly memorable for your special day.
Are there special order minimums? Special Order Minimums For any special order dessert and specialty cakes, we maintain a minimum order requirement of $150.00. However, for tiered wedding cakes, a retainer is collected to reserve your chosen date. The minimum order varies depending on the day of the week: **Monday-Thursday Weddings:** A retainer of $700.00 will be required to secure your date, which will be applied toward the total cost of your event or wedding cake. **Friday-Sunday Weddings:** A retainer of $1,000.00 will be required to secure your date, which will also be applied toward the total cost of your event or wedding cake. Please note that these retainers do not include tax or delivery charges. To finalize your booking, we will discuss final details such as flavor choices, colors, and designs. You will receive a final invoice with the retainer applied. An equivalent to half of the total order amount is required to confirm your booking, ensuring that your date is exclusively reserved for you.
What if I just want a small cake for our first anniversary to freeze? I often recommend a semi-custom buttercream or dessert cakes (ordered easily on the order form page below) for couples who are flexible on design and simply looking for a small cake to cut.
Will you deliver my order? The minimum delivery fee is $75.00, and the setup of your cake is available for all tiered cakes within a 15-mile radius of Hope, ID 83836. Delivery outside of this range is available for an additional fee. Once your cake is delivered, it becomes the responsibility of the venue. it is important that your cake be kept in an area under 75 degrees or an air-conditioned area away from heat and direct sunlight. If not available, refrigerate until reception. I will work with your venue coordinator to identify a suitable location for the cake table if necessary. For dessert cakes, pick up is always free or we can meet for a minimal fee of $25.00.
Do you offer sample tastings? For wedding cake or custom cakes orders, yes! My sample tasting boxes are available for $75.00 each. You may choose up to three flavors to include in your sample tasting box. Additional flavors may be added for $25 each. A full payment is required at the time of the order.
What cake flavors are available? Unless otherwise noted, custom cakes are available in any of the cake flavor combinations listed on my menu. I am known for my custom flavors. Feel free to ask if you have a particular flavor combination.
My wedding/event is out of state. Can I still order from you? Absolutely. I'm happy to provide estimates for out-of-state events.
Can you make my cake allergen, gluten and dairy free? I am an Idaho Cottage Home Bakery. If you have certain diet restrictions, I suggest you find a bakery who specializes in your specific diet restrictions. I do not have a food-allergen-free environment. To be considered a full gluten free product, the facility needs to be only gluten free. My cake offerings can be made gluten-free with replacement gluten-free flours, not all gluten free products. All of my frostings and most of our fillings contain dairy and unfortunately cannot be substituted.
What does your cake design process look like? For custom cakes, my design process begins when you click the "Place Your Order" button below and fill out the form. You will indicate which design styles you're most drawn to. From there we will discuss the other design elements included in your special day (Mood Board) from theme, color schemes to the design of your dress to the flowers you’ve chosen. You’ll receive a personal consultation, to choose from discussed designs and from there we will finalize the details.
